The jewel of Thailand, the tropical island of Phuket has it all! Staying in a first-class beach resort allows you to relax in comfort and when you want to go explore, there is much to see and do. In this short article, we highlight some of the cool things you can do in this amazing part of Thailand.
- Muay Thai – There are a couple of Thai boxing venues where you can watch Muay Thai fighters competing; this is a brutal sport, known as the sport of 8 limbs; hands, elbows, feet and knees. If you want to train Muay Thai, there are some top gyms in Phuket and you might get to rub shoulders with UFC and One Championship stars! Take a selfie with Jon Jones or Michael Chandler and have a memory to cherish. Stay at the Novotel in Phuket all inclusive package and they will call a taxi to take you directly to the venue.
- Tour the old town – Phuket has its modern side, but the old town is a great place for an evening stroll; enjoy delicious street food and twice a week, there is a market that sells just about everything, so you can get all your souvenirs in one hit. The many street vendors have different wares and you can have a suit made to measure at one of the tailor shops. For a couple of hundred dollars, you get to choose the fabric and style and after the fitting, you wait a day or two and your dinner suit is delivered to your hotel.
- Temple tour – If you love fine architecture, join one of the Buddhist temple tours; your receptionist can show you brochures and book the tour and an English-speaking guide will be with you for the duration. If you want to go local, take the 9-temple tour; a big a/c coach takes you to 9, yes 9 Buddhist temples, each with its own charm. The Thais traditionally do this once a year and they leave offerings at each venue. Click here to find out what to expect at an all-inclusive resort.
- Snorkelling and diving – Join one of the dive charter boats and the skipper knows the best reefs and wreck dive sites; they have all the gear; make sure you wear a shirt to protect your skin. Play with bottle-nose dolphins, manta rays and you might even see a whale shark. Snorkelling is great fun and if you are a beginner, join a class and you’ll soon pick it up.
- Dance the night away at a beach disco – After the sun goes down and you have enjoyed a delicious seafood meal, head for the beach and explore the nightlife scene. Always busy, these venues are incredibly popular and you get to meet so many tourists from all over the world.
There is nothing like a Phuket vacation; make sure you book at an all-inclusive resort and you won’t have to worry about the bill at the end of your holiday.
