The Top 5 Tourist Attractions in Bangkok, Thailand in 2025

1

There are many compelling reasons why Thailand sees more than 30 million tourists visit its shores every year, and the capital, Bangkok, hosts many great attractions that tourists love to visit. Known to the locals as the City of Angels (Kreung Thep), this is a city that never sleeps and if you are planning to spend some time in the capital city, here are the top 5 tourist attractions you should add to your schedule.

  1. Grand Palace – The sheer splendidness and regal stature make this a must-see for everyone who visits Bangkok. You can either tour yourself or join an English-speaking guided tour, which we recommend because you get to learn about the colourful history of Thai culture. The highlight of the tour is the Emerald Buddha, which is stunning. Beware of scammers who hang around outside, promising you a free tour of Bangkok; you will likely end up in a jewellery store where you will be pressured to make a purchase. If you are staying in a 5 star hotel in Bangkok, you won’t be far from the Grand Palace, which is very convenient.
  2. Khao San Road – This is a lively area where there are bars and restaurants, with the odd discotheque thrown in for good measure. You can find some great products for sale on market stalls, so you can buy all your souvenirs here. If you arrive late in the afternoon, you get to explore the street and surrounding areas, then explore the vibrant nightlife that Khao San Road is famous for.
  3. Siam Square – This is the home of the luxurious shopping mall, Siam Paragon, where you will find all of the designer brands. This is where the wealthy Thais shop, and they hang around in the coffee shops and restaurants. And while this might not be your cup of tea, it is nice to see how the other half lives. Ask a taxi driver to take you there, or you can jump on the BTS and get off at the Siam Square Station. Click here for some amazing travel quotes.
  4. Siam Amazing Park – The best water park in Bangkok, which is located in Kannayao District on Sukapibahn 2 Road; there is a wide range of rides from real white knuckle jobs to toned-down rides for the younger kids. The park is divided into 6 adventure areas, so there is something for everyone. A great place to spend the day if you have kids, or if you don’t, it is still a fantastic place to spend the day.
  5. Buffet Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya River – Most of the large hotels that sit on the banks of the Chao Phraya River operate a dinner cruise, which usually lasts 3 hours; 90 minutes down the river, then the return journey, which shows you many fine temples bathed in light. There is a traditional Thai dancing show and a sumptuous buffet dinner that is memorable.
